1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Numberblocks!

6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Numberblocks!

We have welcomed the Numberblocks, of Numberland, into our home with open arms. There are dozens and dozens of episodes, and at 5 minutes a piece, they keep the concept of counting fun and fresh.

It's cute and educational and actually has pretty good character design and development. The show teaches basic counting, as well as counting in multiples of respective numbers. All of the numbers are color coded and help show a visual pattern once numbers go beyond 10.

Odds, evens, columns, rows, basic shapes and even square numbers are themes throughout the series. The concept of zero being the number for none (one of my favorite episodes) is explained through song and banter between the Numberblocks musing what could be less than one. I think my only complaint is that with the episodes being so brief, we have to tell Netflix to continue playing very frequently, but that's not the Numberblocks' fault.

If your go-to shows have gotten stale, I highly recommend giving the Numberblocks a try. The songs are catchy and the mathematical stories are entertaining, what have you got to lose?
