Twin Mom Chronicles

6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Numberblocks!

We have welcomed the Numberblocks, of Numberland, into our home with open arms. There are dozens and dozens of episodes, and at 5 minutes a piece, they keep the concept of counting fun and fresh.

It's cute and educational and actually has pretty good character design and development. The show teaches basic counting, as well as counting in multiples of respective numbers. All of the numbers are color coded and help show a visual pattern once numbers go beyond 10.

Odds, evens, columns, rows, basic shapes and even square numbers are themes throughout the series. The concept of zero being the number for none (one of my favorite episodes) is explained through song and banter between the Numberblocks musing what could be less than one. I think my only complaint is that with the episodes being so brief, we have to tell Netflix to continue playing very frequently, but that's not the Numberblocks' fault.

If your go-to shows have gotten stale, I highly recommend giving the Numberblocks a try. The songs are catchy and the mathematical stories are entertaining, what have you got to lose?

I didn't have a preference for a specific diaper brand from the get go. They provided us with Huggies at the hospital, which seemed to work great. However, we were gifted boxes and boxes of Pampers before the girls were born, so that's pretty much what we've stuck with, wipes as well.

We utilize our Amazon registry diaper discount to the max with having a subscription set up, but with twins it seems that we always need a stopgap supply before our recurring delivery arrives. Honestly Amazon's Mama Bear brand does a great job as well, though they seem slightly smaller (shorter) than our regular Pampers. Likewise, if you're in Texas, the HEB store brand work really well too. Additionally, we've tried Seventh Generation, and they were our least favorite. We were more prone to leaks (and the diapers weren't that full either) and they do not have an indication stripe (likely for eco-friendly purposes) which has really become a design standard for modern diapers.

Aside from performance, I prefer Pampers because of their loyalty program app. Every diaper/wipe box comes with a code, which you can scan with your phone or manually type. The points you accrue add up to coupons, but more importantly they started a CASH BACK reward system that operates on a quarterly basis. It's been a little finicky because it's still kind of new (it didn't start out as quarterly, and you could cash it in at any time). Within the first couple of months, I got $30 direct deposited into my PayPal account!

Currently I'm hoarding diaper codes, waiting to scan them for the next cash back offer. They also offer cash back on certain receipts, I believe Target and Walmart, which I haven't utilized first hand (due to Covid and our Amazon deal), but it seems pretty convenient.

In a nutshell, you can SAVE AND EARN money using Amazon and Pampers for your diaper needs!

These are my pufflings. They are the namesake of this new blog and the purpose of the rest of my life. We were shocked when we found out we were having twins, and the shock hasn't worn off yet, and the girls are 6 months old next week!

We call them our pufflings because they LOVE Puffin Rock. They light up from across the room if they hear the theme song, it's kind of amazing.

I plan on doing a lengthy post about our experiences with Puffin Rock, spoiler, I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it yet.

The world has radically changed in the last 6 months, and mine even more so. I plan on writing about our crazy twin experiences, including innovative short cuts and mistakes we've made, in an effort to make it that much easier for the next mom, as well as offer a much needed laugh.
